Cellulite Facts

Other Important Considerations

Fluid Lymphatic fluid can be trapped due to bad circulation in the cellulite area.

Test: To establish fluid accumulation in the area; push the skin with the tip of your index finger. If the indentation disappear quickly, less fluid is "trapped", but more difficult the treatment will be. The longer the indentation stays, the more fluid accumulation.

Medium Cellulite: Mainly happens to younger women(until menopause)

Test: Take skin between thumb and finger. Skin feels strong/tight but has a crystal like to feel to it. ( this might be painful for the client). The crystal like feeling can be due to cells "clinging" together or due to inflammation in the tissue.

Hard Cellulite: When the cellulite exists for a long time.

Skin doesn't feel like crystals anymore, but feels like hard lumps, this is due hardening of the fat in the cells. (this doesn't feel painful) Hard Cellulite is a challenge to treat.

Soft Cellulite: Skin feels like a sponge.

Test: When picking up the skin it will slip away. Crystal like structure is gone. When clients lay down in the chair the form of the cheeks and upper leg changes from round to oval. Soft Cellulite is mostly due to weak collagen and elastin fibers, weak muscle structure, low blood circulation and accumulation of fluid in the area.

Note: More treatments are necessary to treat soft cellulite to achieve good results. Between 15 to 25 treatments..
